Exciting news from Princess Cruises

Published on 05 Mar 2026

Princess Cruises has unveiled an exciting expansion to its Southern Caribbean programme for 2027 and 2028, with the return of round-trip sailings from Barbados for the first time since 2010. The newly announced season will feature 32 voyages visiting 15 captivating destinations, giving guests the choice of sailing round-trip from either San Juan, Puerto Rico, or Bridgetown, Barbados.

The addition of Barbados as a homeport will undoubtedly be particularly welcome news for UK travellers, providing the convenience of direct flights to Bridgetown and a seamless start to a Caribbean escape. From the moment guests arrive, they’ll be able to soak up the island’s laid-back charm, palm-fringed beaches and warm Bajan hospitality before embarking on their voyage.

Eithne Williamson, Vice President UK, Ireland & EMEA at Princess Cruises, commented that introducing Barbados as a homeport enhances choice and convenience for guests travelling from the UK. The move reinforces Princess Cruises’ ongoing commitment to offering travellers even more variety and flexibility when discovering the Caribbean.

Crown Princess will operate from January through to March 2027, followed by Emerald Princessfrom November 2027 to March 2028. Itineraries will range from six to nine nights, with seven-night cruises forming the heart of the programme. Every sailing includes a call to San Juan, where colourful colonial architecture, cobbled streets and historic fortresses such as El Morro provide a vibrant introduction to the Caribbean.

A variety of island combinations throughout the season will also showcase favourites, including Antigua, famed for its 365 beaches and crystal-clear waters; Dominica, known as the ‘Nature Island’ for its lush rainforests, waterfalls and volcanic landscapes; and Grenada, the stunning Spice Isle. Guests may also visit Martinique, where French-Caribbean charm blends chic cafés with dramatic scenery; St. Lucia, home to the iconic Pitons rising majestically from the sea; St. Kitts, offering a mix of colonial history and golden beaches; and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, celebrated for its relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking coastal views. Each itinerary presents a different combination of islands, allowing travellers to experience the diverse cultures, flavours, and landscapes that make the Southern Caribbean so alluring.

These new sailings present an enticing opportunity for those looking to explore the Southern Caribbean with Princess Cruises, combining immersive island experiences with the cruise line's renowned comfort and signature service.
